'JERUSALEM (AP) — Chanting “Death to #Arabs” and singing “May your village burn,” groups of young Israeli Jews made their way through #Muslim neighborhoods of #Jerusalem’s Old City on Monday during an annual march marking #Israel ‘s conquest of the eastern part of the city.

#Palestinian shopkeepers closed early and police lined the alleys ahead of the march that often becomes a rowdy and sometimes violent procession of ultranationalist #Jews. A police officer raised his arms in celebration at one point, hugging a marcher. It was blazing hot, with temperatures hitting 98 degrees Fahrenheit (37 Celsius) in late afternoon.'

From as young as 8 years old I clearly remember questioning my gender, spending many nights praying that I would wake up as a boy. In #Muzaffarabad, the capital of Pakistani #Kashmir, damage from an Indian strike was visible at sunrise. Security forces surrounded a small mosque in a hill-side residential neighbourhood that had been hit, with its minaret collapsed. Later in the day, funerals were held for several of those killed.

#Hindu-majority #India & #Islamic #Pakistan have fought 2 of their 3 wars since independence in 1947 over #Muslim-majority Kashmir, which both sides claim in full & control in part.

Prosecutors said the stabbing—one of the earliest & worst #HateCrime incidents in the US since the start of the #Israel #Gaza war—was sparked by anti-#Muslim hatred. US rights advocates have noted rising #Islamophobia, anti-#Arab hate & #antisemitism.

#JosephCzuba, who was the landlord for #HananShaheen & her son #WadeeAlfayoumi, stabbed the boy 26 times with a military-style knife with a 7" serrated blade. Shaheen suffered multiple stab wounds in the attack.
