mybarkingdogs<p>Not sure what I think of the <a href="https://mastodon.sdf.org/tags/NationalEasTest" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>NationalEasTest</span></a> - I think a national level <a href="https://mastodon.sdf.org/tags/EAS" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>EAS</span></a> is kind of pointless because we don't have the level of sheltering/evacuation/recovery capacity *needed* for an emergency of that level.</p><p>All the national level EAS could tell people to do in a nuclear attack or asteroid impact or similar is near useless because survival in such an overwhelming emergency is down to luck (and personal preparedness to a degree) anyway.</p><p>Opinions?</p><p><a href="https://mastodon.sdf.org/tags/HotTakes" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>HotTakes</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.sdf.org/tags/Disasterdon" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Disasterdon</span></a></p>
