been wondering about this lately and wanted to ask if others have been thinking about this too (take two).
what does the indie web need the most right now? if that’s kinda hard to answer, to phrase it in another way: if you could snap your fingers and add one of these to the #indieweb, which do you think would have the biggest positive impact?
I have a website now! https://stardustverse.neocities.org/
The bulk of it is about my worldbuild and writing project (Stardust), though I plan to add sections about me, my philosophy, or some sort of blog. It is under construction and updated near daily, but is very usable as is. Check it out especially if you're interested in my writing!
Primeira postagem do blógue já está lançada:

Saudações , trago aqui a porra do meu blógue pra quem quiser acompanhar
#writers, #blog aficionados, #web enjoyers, #website browsers: lend me your ears! i need help with a big push to get the word out about #writing for GOOD INTERNET magazine's autumn issue! a digital AND physical magazine that ships all over the world, run & contributed to by volunteers! ()
in case you're unaware, GOOD INTERNET covers a lot of different aspects of the #SmallWeb: unplugging from the corporate web, fighting #enshittification, migrating from data-harvesting corpo social media, creating your own personal website, using code and website-building as an art form, federation, and creating websites for fun. the aim is to be approachable for beginners and enjoyable for seasoned #indieweb travelers!
you don't have to be a professional #webdev or a #coding smartypants to write about all the good things happening on "this side" of the web. the idea here is to spread the word about and share thoughts, independent web projects, services, methods, sites, meet-ups, and celebrate the non-corporate web together while making it easier for us to partake and unplug from #bigtech.
looking for 1,000- to 4,000-word articles aimed at website owners and hobbyists, digital (and traditional) #artists, #internet culture enthusiasts, #technology nerds, #socialmedia expatriates, & anyone who wants to unplug from the corporate-owned #web.
the deadline is AUGUST 22, 2025

HEY MASTODON!!! Do you have a paranormal experience you'd like to share? Check out my page and email me your story and I'll put it on the page for everyone to read! Ofc feel free to omit names/locations for privacy reasons if you like!
YouTube is now recommending me a bunch of videos of people making their own cute little HTML websites, usually on Neocities or what they are calling The Indie Web and its giving me hope.
I knew this was a thing, and I knew people are still making websites like this, but it's really fun to see people encouraging people to do the same or making tutorials on YouTube.

Hello, everyone! I just wrote an extensive essay about why AI is not as bad as I used to think.
Any criticism is welcome

If you've been using #neocities or #nekoweb to host your HTML site and you miss the convenience of *markdown and stuff,* I have a tutorial for you! It's a quick no-nonsense guide through installing Eleventy and using it to add Markdown to your HTML website!
https://github.com/nycki93/eleventy-for-neocities-users
edit: if you found this tutorial helpful, let me know! even just a "yeah this worked" is good feedback!
Wordpress' editor is just total garbage, I've decided. Fiddly, obtuse and annoying.
I'm now looking at building a blog in 11ty and throwing it up on Neocities. 11ty's built around the fabulous Markdown, meaning it's the perfect use-case for my beloved Obsidian.
Neocities, eh? Maybe for kicks I'll search on Lycos for some cool Myspace pages and fire up Winamp for that authentic llama-whipping late-90's-internet feel.
before i sleep here's the new splash page live on my website NOW: https://swiftyshq.neocities.org/

Apparently parts of the commercial side of the internet were down last night...or Google
Which is complete news to me - oh that's right, that is because I don't use Google or the shite that was down!
However, I am still looking for a new platform for my blog which I haven't posted to for ages...i was thinking Neocities?
Main reason I have not posted new stuff is blogger is owned by google, so they'll simply scrape anything new for their piece of shit LLM!
my neocities redesign is now LIVE!!!
completely new layout with light/dark mode, a "pause gifs" buttton, and rewritten from the ground up. take a look around, and sign my guestbook before you go
