Your network traffic is always talking.
Wireshark can show you:
• Hidden trackers
• DNS leaks
• Unencrypted logins
• Background data sharing

Even when apps “promise privacy,” the traffic reveals the truth.
Learning to read packets isn’t just for hackers—it’s for anyone who wants control.

Here’s a periodic reminder and call to action for support:

Supporting the Wireshark Foundation means ensuring Wireshark & Stratoshark remain free, open, and continuously improved for millions of users worldwide. Your donations help cover essential infrastructure, development, and educational initiatives like SharkFest.

Every contribution makes a difference, thank you!

New Book: The Twelve Basic Assumptions of Network Research

The book is an ideal short (114 pages) guide for anyone interested in network research, at first students, but also everyone else who is interested in a concise introduction to considerations from this research field.

The book is written in a very readable way and is a translation of the book of the same name, which was first published in German.

There is no official co-signing of amicus briefs before the #CJEU. I wish the Court records would provide the exact day when an intervening government files a brief in a CJEU proceeding. Then it might be possible to figure out to what extent governments deliberately coordinate their briefing -- in other words how much "diffusion" there is in interventions and who the "opinion leaders" are. #NetworkAnalysis

Quantitative Network Analysis in Investigating Global Processes of Contemporary Artistic Production by Júlia Perczel highlights how network analysis aids understanding the global art market. By integrating digital and critical theory approaches, it uncovers art market dynamics, institutional practices, and transformations in local art scenes. However, it also reveals the challenge of balancing institutional analysis with aesthetic considerations.

❔ How can digital methods help to provide new insights into the power & cooperation dynamics of the Yuan Dynasty?

👉 This week in our #DigitalHistoryOFK, Wonhee Cho (Yonsei University, South Korea) will discuss how “cooperation #NetworkAnalysis” can be used to examine the relationships between officials at the Yuan court to gain insights into the roles of Han and non-Han elites under Mongol rule.

I don't do a lot of #NetworkAnalysis in my work, but there are many in @digigeolab who do, and presumably here as well.

I know #NetworkX is a commonly used Python library for such analysis, but it is a bit slow. However, there is a new spin of it called #RustworkX written in Rust, which makes it blisteringly fast.

Here are some benchmarks: rustworkx.org/dev/benchmarks.h

Has anyone tried it? Any opinions?
