Savoring my last unemployed day off before jumping into the work pool. 

I'm steeling myself for the work days ahead because my previous self employment for 8 years was much fewer hours and no real schedule. 

Starting tomorrow its 7:30-5:30 M-Th, 8-12 F.

Gonna take some getting used to.. half day Friday is nice but 10 hour days with a 1 hour lunch is probably going to kick my butt for a while. 

Gratefully.

A different kind of immigration (

“The arrival of Chinese multinationals is leading an influx of “people from eastern China, more educated and with a broader global background,” said Andrei Guerrero, academic coordinator of the Center for China-Baja California Studies.

In a middle-class Mexico City neighborhood, Viaducto-Piedad, near the city’s historic Chinatown, a new Chinese community has been growing since the late 1990s. Chinese immigrants have not only opened businesses, but have created community spaces for religious events and children’s recreation.

Viaducto-Piedad is recognized by the Chinese themselves as Mexico City’s true “Chinatown,” said Monica Cinco, a specialist in Chinese migration and general director of the EDUCA Mexico Foundation.”

Anniversary birding was filled with nature’s beauty, five lifers added to our list, and the sweet joy of new life, including our first-ever sighting of an American Oystercatcher chick. It ran from nearer the water’s edge back toward the nesting area to crouch by this old flotation buoy, then stood up in anticipation of the food a parent had just flown off to hunt for.
