@ueeu the problem with #wero is that it's not #global and thus neither a replacement nor competitor to #PayPal!
#WhatsMissing is an option for people and businesses outside the European Union to use it.
- If it's more complex than a signup for PayPal, #Stripe or #NowPayments, it's not a real competitor.

Dass dies technisch möglich ist - inkl. Einhaltung von #Identifikationspflichten (#KYC) und #Geldwäscheprävention (#AML) beweisen Zahlungsdienstleister wie #NowPayments regelmäßig!
- Natürlich sollte hierzu eine öffentliche, kosten- und patentfreie #Europanorm geschaffen werden, welche entsprechende #API|s definiert, inklusiver verpflichtender #Testing-Endpoints.
Und natürlich nicht mit irgendwelchem #Blockchain-Müll, dafür #dezentral, #P2P mit Förderation (vgl. Fediverse)...
- Dazu dezentrale Architektur mit "Web of Trust" um effektiv Missbrauch und Akteure dessen zu bekämpfen.
Die Technologien dazu existieren...

Eher werden wir #Monero als Mainstream-#Zahlungsmethode sehen als eine rein auf die #EU beschränkte Konkurrenz.
- Die Leute hinter wero haben *EXAKT NULL* ais #GeldKarte, #eurocash, #eurocheque und Co. gelernt.
Merke: Wenn's nicht *global verfügbar* ist wird's allenfalls ne lokale Nische erfüllen.
- Und für #Verbraucher*innen ist wero mangels #Akzeptanz weniger nützlich als #WeChatPay, #AliPay & #UnionPay in #Deutschland!
Allein vom #Onboarding und der #UX ist wero komplett durchgefallen im vergleich zu #PayPal & #Klarna!

@aborigen the evenbshittier part is when one can't avoid #ValueRemoving #Middlemen like #Stripe or #PayPal because even big-ass #GAFAMs are either unable or unwilling to facilitate #SEPA #WireTransfer|s instead.
- Which is really absurd because those are cheaper, faster and simpler.
My recommendation would be to go with #NowPayments (yes they also settle in fiat!) cuz they have no issues re: NSFW content.
- Sadly #Monero is the only truly global payment option on the market.

@Nickiquote in #Germany, you rather see places refusing to take #cashless because #vendors don't want to pay like 0,5% (#NowPayments) - 1,38% (#SumUp) for any other alternatives.
