Clayton Errington 🖥️<p>Finally got my Miyoo Mini+ and installing OnionOS was the best decision. Now to add even more games on here and keep playing. </p><p>This is how retro games are supposed to be played. </p><p><a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/miyoominiplus" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>miyoominiplus</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/OnionOS" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>OnionOS</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/retrogaming" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>retrogaming</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/retrogames" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>retrogames</span></a></p>

Kevin C. Tofel<p>I’m having way too much <a href="https://hachyderm.io/tags/RetroGaming" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>RetroGaming</span></a> fun with this Miyoo Mini+. Installed <a href="https://hachyderm.io/tags/OnionOS" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>OnionOS</span></a> this morning which adds so many useful features. Nice theme switcher where I found a fave, which you can see in the video. </p><p>Also got hooked up with RetroAchievements, a website that creates and tracks achievements in these old <a href="https://hachyderm.io/tags/videogames" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>videogames</span></a>. This was $70 well spent and I’m just getting started! (Literally… with the original Legend of Zelda)</p>

</p><br><p><code>3.</code> Разом з OnionUI буде встановлена нова версія RetroArch, але це лише частково виправить проблему із попереднього пункту, тож вам доведеться видалити штатні ігри (половина з яких все одно з японською локалізацією) і замість них розпакувати набір із <a href="https://archive.org/details/tiny-best-set-go/" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Tiny Best Set: GO!</a> чи аналогічних.</p><br><p>Якщо ж хочеться просто купити кишенькову консоль для ретро ігор з мінімальним головним болем, то тоді є сенс подивитись в сторону Anbernic RG280V. Щодо Miyoo Mini+, то хоч на дотик він приємний, і має кращий екран, але <a href="https://www.reddit.com/r/SBCGaming/comments/17mga81/the_miyoo_mini_plus_really_is_fragile/" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">корпус крихкий</a>. Найгірший з яких вас очікує при використанні своєї бібліотеки ігор, вам може знадобитись <a href="https://www.reddit.com/r/SBCGaming/comments/vgmb7d/miyoo_mini_v2_adding_game_files_issue/" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">редагувати вручну xml файли або ж виляти їх</a> вручну з комп'ютера.</p><br><p><a class="hashtag" href="https://social.net.ua/tag/miyoo" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#Miyoo</a> <a class="hashtag" href="https://social.net.ua/tag/miyoomini" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#MiyooMini</a> <a class="hashtag" href="https://social.net.ua/tag/miyoominiplus" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#MiyooMiniPlus</a> <a class="hashtag" href="https://social.net.ua/tag/onionos" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#OnionOS</a> <a class="hashtag" href="https://social.net.ua/tag/onionui" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#OnionUI</a> <a class="hashtag" href="https://social.net.ua/tag/anbernicrg280v" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#AnbernicRG280V</a> <a class="hashtag" href="https://social.net.ua/tag/anbernic" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#Anbernic</a> <a class="hashtag" href="https://social.net.ua/tag/rg280v" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#RG280V</a> <a class="hashtag" href="https://social.net.ua/tag/retrogaming" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#RetroGaming</a> <a class="hashtag" href="https://social.net.ua/tag/emulation" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#Emulation</a> <a class="hashtag" href="https://social.net.ua/tag/gaming" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#Gaming</a> <a class="hashtag" href="https://social.net.ua/tag/videogames" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#VideoGames</a></p><p><span class="h-card"><a class="u-url mention" href="https://social.net.ua/users/rada" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">@<span>rada</span></a></span></p>

Mind you, the GP32 was released in 2001 and correct me if im wrong but Goldeneye Doom was first released in 2003.<br><br>I'm not sure if it is because of the lack of updates in the </span><a href="https://easymode.im/tags/Retroarch" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#Retroarch</a><span> port of PrBoom+, but man they have been toying with this old ass outdated mod for 20 years. I thought this was because this specific mod was popular in asia or whatever but the main Onion OS dev is from Denmark so i don't know.<br><br>The other mods selected aren't much better either.<br><br>- First is Star Wars Doom '94, aka stardoom.zip. Why not include the '97 version instead?<br><br>- The next two are A Fistful of Doom and Ultimate Simpsons Doom which are probably the best of the selected mods i suppose, but mostly because of the effort the creators put on these the year both were released, '97 &amp; '98 respectively. But still odd choices for the mod pack.<br><br>- This one killed me. Final Fantasy Doom, the one where you play as a Moogle and every sprite is a MSPaint doodle. I never liked this mod at all. It feels like a big shitpost with a FF coat of paint.<br><br>- Another mod is Half Life in Doom II which isn't even complete. Its just the first two HL levels before it crashes. This is another wad that has been around the internet forever, usually found in packs made for the </span><a href="https://easymode.im/tags/Dreamcast" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#Dreamcast</a><span>.<br><br>- This might be the most specific choice for the pack. This mod was released in 2005 i think, and replaces most sprites with monsters made of real legos. I barely played it but its probably one i could recommend.<br><br>- The other is countertrike.wad<br>Not sure how old is this one, there are several counter strike-themed mods for Doom but i have seen one shared around the PSP communities a lot.<br><br>- The last one is the Blood TC mod from 2006. Not even ZBlood, its the version that came before it. it plays okay i guess but its still very outdated.<br><br>I really dont know what even think about it. It isn't that the mods are bad, its that the dev only lets you play only this very specific list and nothing else. I really wish Onion OS could let you pick the mods you actually want to play instead of...well, these.<br><br></span><a href="https://easymode.im/tags/miyoomini" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#miyoomini</a><span> </span><a href="https://easymode.im/tags/doommodding" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#doommodding</a><span> </span><a href="https://easymode.im/tags/retrogaming" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#retrogaming</a></p>
