Erica Hargreave<p>The Anangu&nbsp;people and Voyages Indigenous Tourism Australia have been creating some interesting immersive and interactive storytelling around Uluru in the heart of Australia's Outback, bringing together both new and ancient forms of storytelling, inclusive of <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/OralTraditions" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>OralTraditions</span></a>, <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/DroneLightShows" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>DroneLightShows</span></a>, and <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/CulinaryArts" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>CulinaryArts</span></a>.</p><p>Join Liz Campell in experiencing Wintjiri Wiru.</p><p><a href="https://roamancing.com/2024/05/uluru-discovering-the-sacred-rock-solid-centre-of-australias-outback/" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">roamancing.com/2024/05/uluru-d</span><span class="invisible">iscovering-the-sacred-rock-solid-centre-of-australias-outback/</span></a></p><p><a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/IndigenousStories" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>IndigenousStories</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/IndigenousTourism" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>IndigenousTourism</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/InteractiveStorytelling" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>InteractiveStorytelling</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/ImmersiveStorytelling" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>ImmersiveStorytelling</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/StoryToGo" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>StoryToGo</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/Roamancing" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Roamancing</span></a></p>
Open Book Publishers<p>🌍As we wrap up <a href="https://hcommons.social/tags/OpenAccessWeek" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>OpenAccessWeek</span></a> 2023, we reflect on the transformative power of <a href="https://hcommons.social/tags/openaccess" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>openaccess</span></a>. </p><p>Lee Haring's words remind us that openness transcends borders, preserving <a href="https://hcommons.social/tags/oraltraditions" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>oraltraditions</span></a> and fostering global connections. </p><p>'Open access is the only ethical, rational way to publish the oral literatures of people who don't have much use for writing. People in the countries I write about are plentifully equipped with mobile phones. With them they see that the outside world is paying attention to their most treasured traditions. Reading a familiar folktale in translation may even encourage them to learn English. The rest of the world discovers the narrative skills and sociopolitical comments of local narrators they can meet only online.'</p><p>Lee Haring's latest <a href="https://hcommons.social/tags/OA" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>OA</span></a> book, '<a href="https://hcommons.social/tags/Folktales" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Folktales</span></a> of <a href="https://hcommons.social/tags/Mayotte" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Mayotte</span></a>, an African Island' is available to read &amp; download for free 👇</p><p><a href="https://www.openbookpublishers.com/books/10.11647/obp.0315" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://www.</span><span class="ellipsis">openbookpublishers.com/books/1</span><span class="invisible">0.11647/obp.0315</span></a></p>
