the character Laoghaire is bitter, and calls someone names
and i am transported back in time

picture it… sicily 1974 (Just kidding, it was tin can bay in QLD)
i was just old enough to legally drink in a pub
this old (ancient, actually) scottish guy and i are trading banalities
in storms his wife, picks up my drink, throws it in my face, calls me a hooooo-ə-rrrrrr

**Laoghaire pronounced Leery, some outlander fan in USA once pronounced it Leg hair - so in this household she is always leghair… the nonsense when a foreign tongue is anglicised… like phlegm, pronounced flem…
