#Toxic tide still flows
" #PRC was considered te world's primary electronic & toxic #waste #dumping ground b4 Beijing cracked down in 2018. As a result, such op'ns migrated to #Thailand & #SEAsia.. a month doesn't pass w/o reports of #illegal waste tpt, #locals complaining abt #pollution, or fire accidents caused by #recycling factories, many of which owned by #Chinese #investors.. #government needs to ramp up #guardrails to prevent these illegal shipments from entering🇹🇭"

Bangkok Post · Toxic tide still flowsBy Editorial

It's hard to believe the US plans to block students from China from American universities -- bad for the students, bad for the universities, a loss of income to the US, a harm to long-term US-China relations. I see that there are about 280 000 Chinese students at present.

Will this be another proposal that Pres. Trump makes and then backs down from? If not, then how many Chinese students will want to go elsewhere? Should UBC double in size?

A good read. Mostly an update touching on the major geopolitical issues showing little change in PRC newspeak confirming current assessments of Chinese Foreign Policy. There is an interesting section on China-Russia foreign relations with regard to the ongoing Russia-Ukraine War, but nothing which contradicts current assessments.

Caviat: I am not a #PRC or #China academic/watcher/expert. So take my opinions with large quantities of salt.

@w7voa Immediately after the Saudi audiences by the #maga standard-bearers #blackrock and #blackstone, what says #SaudiArabia better than... #blackwell.

Other replies already cover the insanity of building *cooling-dependent* data centers in that already baked location...

Oh and just today we learned that #nvidia was also doubling down on its research investment in the #CCP's #PRC.

It's almost as if Nvidia — technically based in the USA for access to stock market funding and valuation — was actually run by Chinese nationalists. 🧐

Taiwanese Nationalists (of the historical KMT *China* nationalist type) are increasingly in cahoots with the PRC communists-turned-ethno-nationalists. And the CCP is also pivoting hard to find unfair-weather allies in the Arab/islamic world.

What to do with all these #PRC #crooks & #thieves?🤔
