The "#KarnevalderKulturen"is a #multicultural #event in #Berlin held annually on Whitsun weekend, consisting of a four-day street festival and a #parade on Whitsun Sunday. The event, which exists since 1996 and usually takes place in Kreuzberg district, aims to foster #artistic and #cultural collaboration to #showcase Berlin's multicultural #diversity. Up to one million people attend the street parade annually. In 2025, the parade took place in #Friedrichshain.

"As the 250th anniversary celebration for the US Army approaches, a freight train of tanks was seen making its way into the nation's capital. The parade on June 14 will feature dozens of M1-A1 Abrams tanks and Bradley and Stryker fighting vehicles rolling through the streets of DC, as well as Howitzers and other artillery pieces, officials said."

The local dairy parade was tonight, and went down the street where we live. It was overwhelmingly loud and peopley so I hid out in the second story bedroom, and watched a bit from the window, listening to tone deaf and arrhythmic marching bands from the local schools, taking a few pictures, until I was too overloaded by the noise and crowd.

Anyway, this guy was the best part of the parade:

A Shriner in a maroon fez and maroon shirt apparently riding a humongous chicken who is mostly red and orange and yellow but has kind of a rainbowish tail (first four rainbow colors visible: red, orange, yellow, green). (It's a chicken rider costume, of course.) The man is waving and grinning maniacally. They're on a trailer in a parade. (Parade not pictured.)
