@danie10 @hcj Australia's new law effectively means #teens will not be able to research topics that may OR MAY NOT BE affecting their society, as they move into #adulthood, this effectively reduces under-16s in #australia (and if this global trend continues, the world) as second class citizens, 2nd class youth will invariably lead to 2nd class adults. Information is NOT #alcohol, its NOT an addictive drug, it is the bigtech platforms that have weaponized the social spaces.... social spaces in general are NOT THE PROBLEM!
the australian govt comparing this law to an #alcoholBan ought horrify every living person on earth. we should be reminded also of what the "war on drugs" actually achieved, in so far as it simply put a bunch of recreational users into the #prisonIndustrialComplex. I put forward that THIS is the real goal of this new global push by govts to ban #information for our youth.
It is also akin to the burning of books, because when govt (today in the 'land-down-under') ties access to the internet to getting a #facescan, or a govt-issued #digitalID that will spell the end of #academicFreedom. The so-called #freeAndOpenWeb and #fediverse community must move swiftly to make australia's new laws redundant.
Mobilise now....
....we ONLY have 12 months make i2p federation a native feature of
fediverse servers.
