Europeans have until May 27 to restrict Meta from using their data: Meta is about to use Europeans’ social posts to train its AI. Here’s how you can prevent it
I saw Rachel Maddow talking about DOGE building a data base consisting of all personal information about individual Americans, so if you are planning to visit the US, I am wondering if simply wiping your phone is enough, and here is why...

oh yeah, let's battle the crime by using a live facial recognition software, and this will solve the problem like a flick of magic wand. as if the cases in USA didn't teach anything.
what could possibly go wrong, huh?

@tuxedocomputers and @nitrokey delivers hardware which is more open, capable of running Linux very well. Both European companies.
@frameworkcomputer and @system76 are US based companies, but delivers great Linux support as well.
#Fairphone with @e_mydata preinstalled (by @murena) delivers a de-googled Android phone with high focus on #privacy. Both Fairphone and Murena are European companies.
The #ARM architecture platform is designed by a UK company. But this platform is also highly extensive and each vendor manufacturing ARM CPUs have the possibilities to add their own extensions to it, which many mobile phone vendors and Apple has done. What we're missing is probably more an ARM based platform manufactured in Europe, which is used by the other computer and mobile/tablet vendors.
There are sane and more reliable alternatives, even though some of the aspect of them could be a bit better if you aim for a complete de-coupling from USAs technology.

I got this email just now, sent from a domain of the provider where I host some Tor webtunnels. Hard to tell if the hosting provider has actually been pwned or if the threat actors are just bluffing.
Any advice from cyber professionals?
@briankrebs @PogoWasRight @metacurity @unredacted have y'all heard if ColoCrossing has been pwned?

Handy guide to pass to your friends, feel free to add to it or improve it. All I ask is that you share it back so I can also share your knowledge.
Companies are writing Terms & Conditions longer than "War and Peace" while hiding privacy settings better than I hide my treats. Time for opt-out-by-default privacy laws? Because let's be honest, nobody should need an archaeology degree to protect their personal data.

Most #AI chatbots devour your user data - these are the worst offenders
The greediest AI of all gobbles up 90% of user data types - far more than most. Take a wild guess which one it is.

A conference presenter discussed a study where an AI model was trained on only 5 minutes of movement data (head and hand position/rotation) from a Beat Saber player and it could then identify that player with 94.33% accuracy.
The way you move is like a fingerprint.
Although I wonder how much of it was style of movement vs physical features like height and arm length. It's possible they said and I'm not the best listener.
