Oldschool 2.8/3mm filament is hard to find, and only in a few colours.</p><p>I don't wanna have to rebuild my extruder and re-sleeve my hotend for 1.75mm filament, but it doesn't look like I have a choice. :(</p><p><a href="https://howse.social/tags/3dprinting" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>3dprinting</span></a> <a href="https://howse.social/tags/reprap" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>reprap</span></a></p>

Davide Bucci<p>I 3D printed a few dragon eggs that work well with the red/blue silk filament that I used for the dragon a few weeks ago. It went quite smoothly and it improved quite a lot the warping when I print <a href="https://mastodon.sdf.org/tags/PLA" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>PLA</span></a>. I used a solid-state relay that is kept in the bottom of the printer, inside a small box that I designed and printed myself. The results are very good! The warping is clearly reduced. It is not shown, but the wiring also contains a protection hearth wire for the aluminum plate. <a href="https://mastodon.sdf.org/tags/3Dprinting" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>3Dprinting</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.sdf.org/tags/DIY" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>DIY</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.sdf.org/tags/RepRap" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>RepRap</span></a></p>

I have a second hand, well aged <a href="https://kolektiva.social/tags/Ender3" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Ender3</span></a> and I wouldn't have change it for one straight out of factory if someone offered to swap. I got it modded, added some tiny but significant mods myself, like a kapton tape in some strategic places or a direct deivinator. It's a much better machine than a new one. It is worth more than a new one to anyone with a brain. I got it for 2/3 of the price. It's a steal. Buy used 3d printers, it's really worth it, they are immortal. Marlin Firmware<p>Hark! The beta testing period for 2.1.3 is almost over!
