JD<p>Felt a little excited to lace up this morning and had the mental capacity to aim for no walking. HR settled in near LT on the hills, but legs and lungs felt strong.</p><p>First day of Run Every Day For A Month, a thing picked up from the old UltraList. It’s a nice way to get back in the habit, increase easy volume, and come out at the end of the month fitter. dode<p>Another Sunday easy run with Coxhoe on the run. Up to Kelloe then back around the plantation to Quarrington Hill and down. I headed home rather than looping back into Coxhoe as the promised rain started.<br>I've entered the willow miner trail race along with a few other of the coxhoe regulars. It looks like a fun evening and has a reputation for mud. His plans have a very predictable pattern to them, which as a mathematician, I really appreciate.</p><p>But I think he's underestimating his athletes. His level system using CP W/kg is odd, as it's really just based on speed. Aaron Toponce ⚛️:debian:<p>I was looking at Jack Daniels' VDOT tables today, and got curious what the percentage of marathon pace ("M pace") should be compared to threshold pace ("T pace").</p><p>Because a valid CP is identical to threshold pace for all practical purposes, this is easy to look at.</p><p>My VDOT is in the 51-53 range. But according to my W/kg I should be training at level 4. My issue with this is twofold.</p><p>1st, the level 4 volume is low compared to what I've been doing the past few years. But 2nd, the intensities are also low.</p><p>In all my previous marathons, I've run at ~93% critical power (CP). woollypigs<p>Back in the great Pyrenees always a joy to hike or run here, great trails and killer views. Normally it's above 1500m before I feel the altitude and need a bit of time to get used to the new heights. But today I could really feel the lack of oomph I'm my legs.
