At the same core counts, #Zen5 based #EPYC4005 series was showing great benefit out of SMT than the flagship #Xeon6300
Also fascinating to see was that AMD EPYC 4345P even with SMT disabled was still faster than the Xeon 6369P with its full load-out thanks to the EPYC Grado #CPU supporting AVX-512 and other advantages over the Xeon 6300 series that in turn is largely rehashed from the Xeon #E2400 series.

SMT Remains Very Advantageous For #Zen5 #AMD #EPYC Performance
#SMT typically was of measurable benefit to the 5th Gen AMD EPYC processor with the exception of some #HPC workloads that perform better with SMT disabled or otherwise limited by memory bandwidth. SMT also hurt the OpenVINO inference latency but by and large Simultaneous Multi-Threading remains an important and valuable feature for AMD processors.

They focus on single threaded performance with SPEC #CPU2017 rate tests running a single copy. There's a small exception for #SMT
#Loongson still can’t compete with older desktop offerings like Core i5-6600K, even if Loongson has improved performance between 3A5000 and 3A6000. Loongson needs to keep up pace of IPC improvements while dramatically increasing clock speeds if they hope to seriously compete with Intel and AMD.

While SMT isn't beneficial everywhere, there still are many workloads where Simultaneous Multi-Threading is a valuable asset even with today's very high core count processors. Even with a 128-Core Zen 5 "classic" processor, there are a lot of workloads showing sizable gains for SMT with the EPYC 9755 and 12 channel DDR5-6000 memory.

Had a productive craft night @nycresistor . Guest chef Quinten (?) stopped by with coordination from Mars to bring us all Egg Night! As a requirement for an egg, I had to post about my experience, and since I forgot my discord password and didnt feel like jumping through their hoops, I decided to bring the eggy goodness to the fediverse!

Also soldered some more 0603 resistors onto @skyguided 's torroid driver. It is slowly coming together- Waiting on the MOSFETS. gosh that microscope is handy!

I and a few others were curious about "cloud eggs". you basically beat the egg whites until they get frothy, then bake that with a little cavity formed for the yoke for about 3 minutes. Plop the yoke in after 3 minutes and then bake for another minue and viola!- beautiful cloud egg! The peertube video I made has clarification on the beating. I was too busy soldering and eating to film :)

Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance

Definitivo é a experiencia que a gente gosta mais. É difícil dizer que SMT V: V uma história melhor que a do original, mas como jogo, é melhor em muitos aspectos. As quests novas são melhores, mas ainda tem muita quest passável. O mapa novo é legal, mas nada daqui é "maior" que o original, é só "diferente", até não ser mais.

Gostei desse jogo, no final do dia foi mais de um jogo que eu já gostava.
