@androidarts @nyrath DragonQuest 2nd Ed is a really good game, but much too crunchy for modern math-impaired, reading-impaired players. Every character gets a magic school, and development is by experience purchase, nicer than D&D-types.

Most of the adventures (maybe 3 official, lots of fan-made) are more literary swords & sorcery, fighting other people not monster-grinding. You'll die hard in a dungeon with a dozen monsters per room.

A technical question about SPI. I'm looking at a machine, that has 5 SPI peripherals and a controller. The same CS signal is connected to all of the peripherals.

Am I correct in my thinking that if I would want to reshuffle the devices without access to the firmware in the controller, I'm basically out of luck since it pushes data to all the peripherals with the expectation that the first one takes its piece, forwards the rest to the second and and so forth until everyone has had their share?

Need a fancy name to use instead of #selfhosting? I got something for ya ;)

Introducing #SPI — the Sovereign Private Infrastructure. Sounds a lot more sophisticated :) (Yes, I work in marketing, I admit :)

And yes, the S could also be Self-managed or Self-owned if you want to avoid Sovereign. I however think it is time to take language back from the extremists. Best way is to confuse them. Divide et impera, as true Federati should do :)

@HoustonDog @hyakinthos OFC, and speed isn't even the problem as @OS1337 is quite smol, so stocking with the royality-free to implement #SPI-Interface may be an option.

  • Sadly I've not found any "#readonly" #microSD adaptors (regardless if SATA-DOM or M.2 or mSATA form factor yet...

Which is kinda sad as I'm shure there are many systems like #DigitalSignage that are somewhat tamper-proof and in the interest of lowering maintenance should be setup as read-only, espechally on cheap flash that has very few write cycles if not lacks wear-leveling and garbage collection...
