hkz<p>When you need <a href="https://social.chinwag.org/tags/composite" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>composite</span></a> from <a href="https://social.chinwag.org/tags/svideo" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>svideo</span></a> in a pinch.</p>
hkz<p><a href="https://social.chinwag.org/tags/vickytwenty" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>vickytwenty</span></a> board finally booting! With a sovietic 6502 clone in it, a ridiculous stack of sockets for the ROMs (waiting for my adapters from JLCPCB to arrive to fix this) and a B/W image (I did the <a href="https://social.chinwag.org/tags/svideo" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>svideo</span></a> mod, but connected only the luma signal for testing).</p><p>The character rom has a bodge wire on it for the second /CS signal. I totally forgot this one was a 2332 and required both select signals to be handled by the VIC.</p>
The Fury 🐧💻❗️🔥:verified:<p>So it's been awhile since I posted and one of the big things that had happened since then has been I was able to go fully remote at work. This has allowed my wife and I to leave <a href="https://infosec.exchange/tags/RI" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>RI</span></a> and live in a more affordable area, being <a href="https://infosec.exchange/tags/upstateNY" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>upstateNY</span></a>.</p><p>It's been a great change. A lot of places are within walking distance and there seems to be a better sense of community as well. My wife is planning to get involved in the weekly local farmer's market to sell her art (and maybe her delicious hot oil or pickled jalapenos and onions? :blobcatyes:)</p><p>We also have more room now and I've been able to split our gaming consoles between the living room and bedroom. Still a WIP, but I'm pleased that I'm able to have most of the consoles ready to go. Just need a <a href="https://infosec.exchange/tags/component" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>component</span></a> switch, another <a href="https://infosec.exchange/tags/HDMI" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>HDMI</span></a> switch, and a bigger <a href="https://infosec.exchange/tags/AV" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>AV</span></a> switch.</p><p>The living room has the more modern consoles, with everything connected via HDMI, with the exception of the <a href="https://infosec.exchange/tags/Wii" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Wii</span></a> and <a href="https://infosec.exchange/tags/PS2" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>PS2</span></a>, which precede HDMI output, of course. With those, I use component connections, which look pretty good on our <a href="https://infosec.exchange/tags/HDTV" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>HDTV</span></a>.</p><p>The bedroom has the older consoles, with most using <a href="https://infosec.exchange/tags/composite" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>composite</span></a> connections, which usually don't look great, but on the little HD TV I got for retro gaming, looks just fine. I use <a href="https://infosec.exchange/tags/SVideo" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>SVideo</span></a> with any of the consoles that have it available, with the <a href="https://infosec.exchange/tags/Atari7800" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Atari7800</span></a> and toploader <a href="https://infosec.exchange/tags/NES" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>NES</span></a> using <a href="https://infosec.exchange/tags/RF" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>RF</span></a> (why that was the only option on the NES, I have no idea...well, maybe. Probably cost). The <a href="https://infosec.exchange/tags/Dreamcast" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Dreamcast</span></a> is a special case. The system works with <a href="https://infosec.exchange/tags/VGA" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>VGA</span></a>, which this TV supports. Along with some cheap wired PC speakers, looks and sounds great. The shelf is a temporary set up, until we get a bigger one (and bigger TV).</p><p><a href="https://infosec.exchange/tags/WiiU" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>WiiU</span></a> <a href="https://infosec.exchange/tags/PS4" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>PS4</span></a> <a href="https://infosec.exchange/tags/PS5" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>PS5</span></a> <a href="https://infosec.exchange/tags/PS3" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>PS3</span></a> <a href="https://infosec.exchange/tags/PS2" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>PS2</span></a> <a href="https://infosec.exchange/tags/PSVR" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>PSVR</span></a> <a href="https://infosec.exchange/tags/MiniNES" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>MiniNES</span></a> <a href="https://infosec.exchange/tags/MiniSNES" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>MiniSNES</span></a> <a href="https://infosec.exchange/tags/MiniGenesis" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>MiniGenesis</span></a> <a href="https://infosec.exchange/tags/NintendoSwitch" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>NintendoSwitch</span></a> <a href="https://infosec.exchange/tags/SNES" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>SNES</span></a> <a href="https://infosec.exchange/tags/SegaGenesis" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>SegaGenesis</span></a> <a href="https://infosec.exchange/tags/Nintendo64" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Nintendo64</span></a> <a href="https://infosec.exchange/tags/PlayStation" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>PlayStation</span></a> <a href="https://infosec.exchange/tags/SegaSaturn" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>SegaSaturn</span></a> <a href="https://infosec.exchange/tags/CollecoVision" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>CollecoVision</span></a> <a href="https://infosec.exchange/tags/Retro" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Retro</span></a> <a href="https://infosec.exchange/tags/RetroGamer" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>RetroGamer</span></a> <a href="https://infosec.exchange/tags/RetroGaming" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>RetroGaming</span></a></p>
