The Original Stripey GoodnessThe (purportedly) carbon fiber "7.2 m" fishing pole arrived yesterday. I extended it in the backyard to get a sense for it's suitability as a <a href="https://meow.social/tags/hamradio" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#hamradio</a> <a href="https://meow.social/tags/pota" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#pota</a> antenna mast, and I think it'll work quite well! MIT <a href="https://meow.social/tags/swapfest" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#swapfest</a> is on Sunday, so I'll take Striped-Son and we will be on the lookout for parts suitable for building an antenna suitable for 20m operation. For reasons I can quite determine, I'd really like to build a "sleeve" dipole that I can use vertically. The fishing pole is not quite tall enough to use such a thing without a coil in place to make the whole thing electrically-longer.
