Numbers coming out great for my recent home #solar install; the #metrics in the dashboard are wrong though; my average daily power generation was actually 64.99 kWh so far this month, not 26 kWh as shown in the #monitoring app, because it’s not taking into account the days my system was off and I was waiting for the utility approval before I could start making all my own artisinally-crafted #electrons. We use about ~31 kWh daily in this household, so I’ll be needing to do some work to ensure $0 bills all year round, with the utility’s net metering program I’ve got us running on. #solarpunk #punkAF #ArtisinalEnergy #LifeGoals #SolarHomelab

Power systems can be restarted using large-scale, grid-forming batteries storing power from wind and solar sources as the primary restart source.

Batteries with grid-forming inverter technology are better at supporting system restart than traditional black-start generators in many respects

They are capable of energising far larger areas of the network than synchronous generators like gas, coal or hydro

www.csiro.auTurning the lights back onElectricity keeps traffic lights on, operating rooms running and medications refrigerated – and power blackouts in Australia are not just an inconvenience, they can put lives at risk.

Trying to get someone to maintain an existing rooftop PV system is proving to be almost impossible here. Everyone just wants to sell me a new system instead of replacing a single microinverter.

747-Sized #Drone Flies For Three Days On #Solar Power Alone
Aviation startup #SkydwellerAero has successfully flown a drone with a bigger wingspan than a Boeing 747 for nearly three days straight — and then did it again. And it did it fueled by nothing but photons and electrons for the entire time. The company's stated goal is to eventually achieve "perpetual" flight, in which the drone would only have to land once it needs maintenance.

Since I had #solar panels installed on my house in 2019, they've generated 79.3 Megawatt-hours of #electricity.

This equates to a reduction of 56.7 tons of #CO2 being released, having planted 951 trees, or charging 6.84 million phones.

They've also reduced my electricity bill by approximately $7.8k over that time. Granted, from a purely selfish monetary perspective, it will take another 12 years or so to recoup the initial outlay, but IMHO the investment in the #environment is worth it. 🌞😎

#IRS Makes It Harder for #Wind & #Solar Projects to Claim #Tax Breaks
Move comes as Trump issued barrage of new restrictions on #renewableenergy
Trump’s #BigBeautifulBilll, was set to rapidly phase out lucrative tax credits for new wind & solar unless they began construction in the next 12mo. IRS guidance would add further hurdles by tightening longstanding rules for what counts as “beginning of construction,” make it harder for projects to qualify

KI-Slop, Fake News, Verarschung. Aber alle machen mit und teilen es begeistert.
