It is strange to review a music video, but Buzzy Lee's masterpiece Strange Town deserves some praise. I think Buzzy Lee, who co-directed the music video with Jeff Leeds Cohn knew that they didn't know what they were doing. So the whole thing, spoiler alert, is poking fun at their own directing.

I remember sitting at the entrance to a local cinema near me, shivering from a new kind of depression. I was waiting to enter the screening of Avatar: The Way Of Water, which was released in cinema just after The Fabelmans. The previous film I have seen in that very cinema, may...

#Movies

I was in the mood & just watched #ReadyPlayerOne (RP1) & #BatteriesNotIncluded (BNI) for some hybrid animated fun.

Even though I'm not a #VideoGame player anymore, I really like RPI which I'd rate an 8 for entertainment value.

RPI was directed by #Spielberg. Great special effects, great pacing, great action & great integration between live shots & animation. I recommend watching it if you've never seen it before.

I always thought that BNI was also directed by Spielberg. That's not the case but its shot in his style. BNI (1987) stars #JessicaTandy & #HumeCronyn as a "older" couple who are trying to be forced out of their home (which also contains their business) by a real estate developer. They also co-starred together as a couple in #Cocoon (1985) who are visited by a family of mechanical devices.

It's just an innocent, fun family movie. I'd give it a 7 & also recommend it if you haven't seen it before.

#PositiveThoughts

I firmly believe we are on this planet to uplift each other whenever we are able to.

I‘m a deeply grateful person for I know for certain that it is possible uplift people even if you never met.

In my case:

My favorite movie director is Steven #Spielberg.
Like I mentioned a few toots earlier he is one of my heroes.

My uncle pointed out to me when I was 9 years old, that he was involved in seven out of ten of my favorite movies.
This hit my kiddo core. 🧵

1/2 Damals, als »A.I.

Hallo, in case you haven’t been aware of this article…

‘Schindler’s List’: An Oral History of a Masterpiece(The Hollywood Reporter, 2024-02-21)

… and for everyone interested in #Spielberg, #SchindlersList, and #HolocaustNarrative, it’s worth reading.

Oh, and I’d also like to recommend everyone to read the original book by Thomas Keneally. There is a grave and fundamental difference between this research-based documentary fiction and the film, and IMO the film (notwithstanding its merits) failed there.

We got #Paramount streaming for a month. I parachuted into the series #Halo to see what it was like -- and got hooked. Steven #Spielberg is a producer.
I had my doubts because it's inspired by a game I never played. But there is plot, attention to character development, a strong story, interesting subplots, intrigue, moments that make you think -- and all the rest. Kind of a mix of The Expanse (especially visually), maybe a touch of BSG, and a drop of Starship Troopers.
