I haven't taken a picture because they're still wet but needless to say neither is going to space today
or in real terms
i'm gonna have to go to a real label printer
this is not a surprise but
stickers are _kinda spendy_ holy shit
ah well
still want stickers tho'
RUN UNDER A TAP lol
okay yeah poly is definitely better - but neither one of them is going to handle rain
may try absolutely soaking a sticker in poly, see if that helps
Okay, it's all dry to the touch. No further changes.
Gonna put a couple of actual drops of water on it, horizontally, then tilt it them back to vertical. Maybe that's what happened.
woah I did NOT expect a reaction this quickly (or this dramatic)
i applied both coatings as I normally would, which means there's _much more_ shellac applied than poly
is shellac more brittle? did it somehow sit on top, crack, and create a failure point?
you'll note i'm writing this shit down
that's how you know it's science
showered with a fine mist of water while lying flat, then propped back up to vertical
let's see how they handle that
Neither the poly nor the shellac has had any immediately detectable impact on the efficacy of the glue, so that's good.
dry
it's not really clear in the photo but she shellac is a little yellower, as one would expect, but _less_ so than i expected.
that's kinda good because poly's not real bad but shellac is pretty dang harmless.
experiments with spray coatings!
