Happy to share that we've incorporated #StoryToGo as a #NotForProfit society designed to reflect #storytelling today with a focus on community, #education, #mentorship, media experimentation, #socialgood initiatives, #accessibility, and the creation of #media in its many forms. storytogo.ca

Have yet to update the StoryToGo.ca, but in the meantime, join me in welcoming our first board of Directors of Lori Yearwood, Kevin Ribble, Kelly Conlin, Eva Prevost, Bjorn Yearwood and myself.

If you, like me, don’t want META (ie #Facebook) using your personal date to train #AI, you need to opt out by today (June 26th, 2024).

META has buried how to opt out, but the attached post gives you an easy to follow set of instructions.

Closed a chapter today.

It had its ups & its downs, but I am glad I did my #MasterOfEdTech. It allowed me to set myself new challenges, prioritize goals with #StoryToGo (including building our own #lms explore #SustainableFunding Pathways, speak on new topics internationally, explore how to shape #disability within my #storytelling & how we can be more #accessible in our storytelling, & dream up new ways of merging stories & education with technology (from #podcasting to #XR).

#ThroughMyLenses it is such a lovely pat on the back, on the storytelling and digital strategy work we do, when we discover one of our stories in the first listing on a search engine search, as the case was today, when typing Leilani Kai Resort into a Google search. Even better when it happens with a place close to our heart, like Leilani Kai Resort is.

Here's the article in question: roamancing.com/2023/12/leilani

#ThroughMyLenses I am thrilled to see #hashtags mature on Bluesky Social and newsmast, following Mastodon’s model.

Means I can remove X (Twitter) from the hashtag activity in my next #SocialMedia Storytelling Course at #BCIT and replace with a hashtag chat activity suited to #Mastodon, #Bluesky and #newsmast.

Still giving students options, but without having to include a platform that in my opinion has become problematic on a number of levels.

#HappyDays! Last of the marks for my Master of Educational Technology from UBC is finally official.

Just did the cha cha around the house with Linus the Golden Retriever & Ella the Tortie Terror in tow! A little excited as they took a few weeks to process the final grade on my last directed studies course.

I now have my MET with a focus in #ImmersiveStorytelling, #SustainableFunding, #OpenEducation & #Accessibility.

I am pleased to share that with the start to the New Year, comes both an end & a beginning, an end to my Master of Educational Technology & a beginning (& continuation) to the research, experiments & production that MET started in #ExtendedReality (& in #SustainableFunding Solutions for Creatives & Educators).

Below is a bit of a roadmap to where I am headed in terms of #XR (storytogo.ca/2024/01/conceptua

I share thanks with those who helped guide & support me on this journey.

Closing reflections from the @Interledger Summit 2023 from #diverse perspectives, including Saloni Garg, Carlos Villasēnor, Eunice de Asis, Malou Lintmeijer, Savannah Koolen, Neha Arora, AJ Proc and Santosh Viswanatham.

We need to come together to share openly, as we don't know what we don't know.

I love learning more about the students in my courses at the beginning of each term, and about their hopes and dreams.

This quote that one of them shared from Steve Jobs, gave me a huge smile “The most powerful person in the world is the #storyteller. The storyteller sets the vision, values, and agenda of an entire generation that is to come.”

Hoping that I am helping them do just that, in the pursuit of good and a more accepting world, full of kindness and goodwill.
