#TIL that the source code for adding ActivityPub support to a Ghost instance is available for experimentation by community-hosters. With the caveat that;

"This repository is being actively developed and is currently in early alpha - expect many breaking changes. It is not suitable for production use."

: UEFI boot really matters. Cut my boot times in half on the new nodes, saving *minutes* probably because of the 256MB of RAM being checked or something. Or because Supermicro's boot code seems to do everything thrice.

I was musing just now that the non-word "assword" occurs very often in software, specifically the kind of bodgy expect-type script that's looking for a password prompt in its input stream and isn't sure whether to expect it to begin with p or P.

I thought, I bet there are a lot of web search hits for "assword". Indeed there are, but more, #TIL that it's actually the name of a password management tool. Excellent – a great choice!

Makes up for my recent disappointing discovery that there appears to be no software called "argo0" that handles JSON.

Hangul "is not the only [writing system that we know and can trace who exactly created it]. We know exactly who created the Cherokee and the Cree-Inuk syllabaries. There are also several new scripts in parts of Africa and elsewhere who’s creators are still alive among us, e.g., Herman ‘Mogri’ Mongrain Lookout for the Osage alphabet."

Death day of the inventor of morse code- who was also a painter!

Samuel Finley Breese Morse (April 27, 1791 – April 2, 1872) was an American inventor and painter. After establishing his reputation as a portrait painter, Morse, in his middle age, contributed to the invention of a single-wire telegraph system based on European telegraphs. He was a co-developer of Morse code in 1837 and helped to develop the commercial use of telegraphy.

Okay, I'm occasionally dipping into the senate coverage today, and it's worth it to see Cory Booker chew this scenery even while exhausted. Booker is now on hour 20 or something of this "non-filibuster."

a) We just heard Senator Hirono from Hawaii say, "wtf comes to mind!" Priceless.
b) Today I learned that Cory Booker has a "favorite federalist paper." What a lovely nerd.
