Minoru Saba<p>Visited the Tachineputa no Yakata (Tachineputa Museum) in Goshogawara, Aomori Pref. Missed the Tachineputa Festival by about a week.<br />Didn't know that the huge tachineputa floats were only revived in 1998. Seems overhead electricity cables caused the floats to die out, but discovery of float blueprints in the early 90's led to a revival and burying the city power lines made parades possible again.<br /><a href="https://toad.social/tags/Tachineputa" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>Tachineputa</span></a> <a href="https://toad.social/tags/Goshogawara" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>Goshogawara</span></a> <a href="https://toad.social/tags/Aomori" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>Aomori</span></a> <a href="https://toad.social/tags/Japan" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>Japan</span></a><br /><a href="https://www.marugotoaomori.jp/en/sightseeing-experiences/the-worlds-tallest-paper-sculptures/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener" translate="no"><span class="invisible">https://www.</span><span class="ellipsis">marugotoaomori.jp/en/sightseei</span><span class="invisible">ng-experiences/the-worlds-tallest-paper-sculptures/</span></a></p>
