Of course tech is not going to offer a solution, they're too stupid and greedy.
[Stupid may not be the right word. Monomind would be better. Like thinking EV's are it, or Mars. The combination with capitalistic greed makes it real stupid.]
Of course labor unions are not going to offer a solution, they're too conservative.
[In the sense that protecting jobs may not be as important as survival. e.g.: Coal has to go so don't protect the jobs but the miners [re-education for instance]. Don't get me wrong ! Unions are a very important part of the solution as is #Equity is a part of the solution.

And the problem I'm talking about is the #ClimateEmergency.
I see no other problem bigger or more urgent than the survival.

I know it's a slow burning disaster, and you don't see it now [ 😖😖 are you blind ?*] and you don't think it could be solved [ 😩😩I know you got no imagination** ]
There are better solutions to those giant diesel burning calamities used now. But don't think 'electric' or 'A.I.'. What about overhauling your logistics system ?
Robots or A.I. are not a solution to this giant problem. And don't accept the tales 'they' are selling you, it's a scam from an individual to get rich and powerful.
[I know many solutions will have to use a lot of computing power, but don't call that A.I.}

* I guess you don't see hurricanes, wildfires and flooding being more common and picking up in destruction ?
** If you can't even imagine the problem... no wonder you can't imagine the solution. And a lot of creative thinking is

We thought it was about time to scale up our marine rewilding efforts which is why we have decided to build our very own kelp factory! Together with Seaforester and IPL we are embarking on a journey to build a kelp nursery and test an innovative restoration technique at scale."

🔎 ABOUT THIS PROJECT
Since 2020 we have been working with SeaForester to restore kelp forests in Portugal. These underwater forests are astonishing havens for marine life which also improve water quality and sequester carbon. Unfortunately, large areas of kelp have disappeared from the coast of Portugal but reverting this trend has been difficult. One of the challenges is that restoration efforts tend to require extensive diving which quickly becomes costly and time-consuming. A new technique called “green gravel” has been developed to address this challenge and make large scale marine reforestation possible. It involves growing kelp attached to pebbles in a lab before deploying them at suitable locations in the ocean. For this project, we are building a kelp nursery that will allow us to test this method on a larger scale.

This is not about the 'what aboutisms' that deniers like to bring up when they don't want to listen to the total tree in their own eye. China has not been poluting the planet since the industrial [capitalist] revolution and indeed it's playing catch up for the last 40 years.
But at least it takes care of going the right way, doing it durable for as much as able. And, much sooner as promised, it is beginning to look hopeful...

866 #ClimateMyths #OverPopulation

One of the most persistant myths about the survival of humanity is that of the overpopulation. The planet can not feed us all.
THIS IS NOT TRUE
Sure enough, humans as a species are quite dominating in the ecosphere. But the hunger is due to a more egocentric and horrifying reason: what 'we' eat and how 'we'distribute the food is the real culprit.
Not a wonder I got a agrivated reaction on a vegeburger video, by an American [US}.
Over population is an age old escuse to carry on as usual, to 'Eat my burger without the worry'.
This is very 'rich' coming from the richest [and fattest] country that became that way by exploiting their 'own' country and that of others. Sure you don't want to worry...

Please stop commenting with these cheap and very outdated claims on the climate.
I don't mind opposite comments at all, but do take care of validity of your arguments.

About the video: Is human overpopulation alarmist hype with disturbing consequences? Oxford data scientist Hannah Ritchie debunks the overpopulation myth.
A widespread concern with overpopulation became prominent in the 1960s and the 1970s, when scholars wondered how we could produce enough food for a rapidly growing global population. Brought to the fore with the publication of the book, "The Population Bomb," by Paul R. Ehrlich in 1968, it seemed that the only way to solve this problem was to discourage people from having more children.
This concern hinged on the assumption that the world population would continue to grow exponentially, but it hasn't. While the global population is still growing, in fact it's growing at a much slower rate, as global population growth rates peaked decades ago and have halved since then.
So is this concern completely unfounded? What can future population projections tell us? Data scientist Hannah Ritchie explains why."

"Floating Bog" [ ± 1-3 min]
by Zero_Machine

youtube.com/shorts/MKUkn7ekIIM

Quote by ZM:
"May 14, 2025
A "floating bog" is a type of wetland ecosystem where a mat of vegetation and peat (partially decomposed plant material) floats on the surface of water. It's typically found in cold, northern climates and forms in lakes or ponds where plant growth outpaces decay due to water saturation and low oxygen levels.
Features of a Floating Bog:
Floating Mat: The mat consists of mosses (especially sphagnum), grasses, sedges, and sometimes small shrubs or trees. It can appear solid but is actually floating on water.
Peat Formation: Over time, plant matter accumulates and turns into peat. The mat thickens and can support more complex vegetation.
Low Nutrient Levels: These environments are nutrient-poor and acidic, which influences the types of plants and animals that can live there.
Unique Plants: You'll often find "carnivorous plants" like pitcher plants and sundews, which survive by trapping insects since the soil lacks nutrients.
Where They're Found: Common in parts of Canada, the northern United States, northern Europe, and Russia. Can be seen in places like "Minnesota’s Floating Bog Boardwalk" or parts of the Boreal Forest region. Ecological Importance: Serve as carbon sinks, storing large amounts of carbon in the form of peat. Support rare and specialized species. Help with water filtration and flood control."

Quote by NoPBS:
"Nov 18, 2024
It was a late-career epiphany that led “wacky genius” Pat Brown to abandon his academic career and commit himself to fighting global warming and biodiversity collapse. He did it, against all odds, by developing a surprising product: the revolutionary and delicious plant-based Impossible Burger.
Pat Brown is a preeminent biochemist and Stanford professor with a most impressive resume. He pioneered research into the AIDS virus, invented DNA imaging tools, and helped revolutionize open access to scientific research. Then, well into his successful career, he took a sabbatical “to figure out what was the most important thing I could do to make the best possible world?”
After coming to the conclusion that the impact of animal agriculture on climate change and biodiversity loss was unacceptable, Pat decided to do something about it. He ditched his lab and began working on the creation of the Impossible Burger: a plant-based meat alternative that uses 96% less land, 87% less fresh water, and generates 89% less greenhouse gas emissions than traditional beef burgers. Through groundbreaking science and unwavering commitment, Pat's work has not only transformed the culinary landscape, it is providing real hope for a more sustainable and ethical food system.
Now, having proven that plant-based meat can compete with animal products on the open market, Pat is jumping ahead to the next big question: What’s the best way to use the land that can be freed up from raising cows and other livestock? On a thousand acres in Arkansas owned by the Impossible Foundation, Pat and fellow scientist, Michael Eisen are boots-deep into a real-world case study on turning carbon-emitting cattle ranches into carbon-capturing forests that also promote biodiversity. They call it the Carbon Ranch."

Every few weeks they have a free webinar to get a better understanding of the problem[s] and about possible solutions. A speaker is invited to talk [most of the time with a PowerPoint] and to answer questions.
I don't think I ever missed one [being quite of age but without offspring 😜].

This time by Hanneke van Ormondt of Stichting Urgenda [Urgenda Foundation].
She talks about the '7 points plan for food and agriculture' Not about gardening. She gives quite a comprehensive talk about what to change in 'our' behavior and proposes changes for professional farmers.

It is a long video but worth it and in a great pace.
