Statham is still a one man army and that is a-okay with me. There were some over-the-top sequences and characters to match the over-the-topness (like the one legged mercenary).

The basics of the scam that starts off the movie is familiar from what I see on YouTube.

I’ll watch anything with Jason Statham in it. He’s his own genre and he’s awesome. He's great in this movie playing the same character he plays in his other movies -- and that is a benefit, not a drawback.

The daughter/FBI agent is super annoying. The character is terribly written and she has to be one of worst FBI agents in the field -- like how she deals with the person visiting her mom at the start of the movie. The actor that portrays her (Emmy Raver-Lampman) is overacting also -- in a "hey look, I'm on the bigscreen" way -- and that definitely does not help.

Josh Hutcherson is fun to watch as the smarmy CEO of the scam company. I was confused why Jeremy Irons, Minnie Driver and Phylicia Rashad signed up for this movie -- but I guess everyone needs a paycheck from time to time?

I was disappointed by how quickly the movie ended and how it wraps up the story. But, I wasn't here for the story. Overall, my son and I were both super entertained by the movie for its action. Everything else was just there to carry the action along. My son called the movie dumb, but he rated it 7 out of 10 for the action and the silly entertainment.

My rating is 7 out of 10.

Streamed on Amazon Prime Video.

#Movies #TheBeekeeper #AmazonPrimeVideo
