I also like the unclunky footwear here; even though the shoes differ from Dorothy's ruby slippers in having a strap but lacking a bow, they must have been chosen with "The Wizard of Oz" in mind.

"Ding-Dong! The Witch Is Dead" is a song in the 1939 film #TheWizardOfOz. It is the centerpiece of several individual songs in an extended set-piece performed by the #Munchkins, #Glinda (#BillieBurke) and #DorothyGale (#JudyGarland) highlighted by a chorus of Munchkin girls (the Lullaby League) and one of Munchkin boys (the Lollipop Guild), it was also sung by studio singers as well as by sung by the Winkie soldiers. Saw #Wicked tonight.
#TheWizardOfOz is my fave film. I’ve read all the original books & have also read the #GregoryMaguire books that the musical Wicked is based on.I’ve also seen the stage show twice so I’m v familiar with the material.
So I was very skeptical going in!
But it really blew me away. The performances are excellent. #ArianaGrande is perfect as Glinda & her voice is sublime.
My only criticism is how muted the colours are compared to 1939 Technicolour. Munchkinland was dim.
