Dave Nanian<p>Bobby Hutcherson - Oblique</p><p>Another excellent Hutcherson release, this one from 1967, featuring Herbie Hancock (piano), Albert Stinson (bass), and Joe Chambers (drums).</p><p>Close mic’ed in the RVG style, with Chambers’ cymbal work super prominent in the mix and mastering. Love this one. Andy<p>This, I think, is quite special: the <a href="https://mstdn.party/tags/TonePoet" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>TonePoet</span></a> reissue of <a href="https://mstdn.party/tags/TheCooker" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>TheCooker</span></a> by <a href="https://mstdn.party/tags/LeeMorgan" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>LeeMorgan</span></a>. </p><p>This has become quite rare of late &amp; I was fortunate to pick up a NM copy (in reality, unplayed) for, basically, retail. </p><p>The album itself is glorious. I love Morgan (with &amp; without Blackey) - he blows with such ferocious energy, while never less than melodic &amp; soulful.
