#DEDA - #tracking Dots Extraction, Decoding and #Anonymisation #toolkit

Document Colour Tracking Dots, or yellow dots, are small systematic dots which encode information about the printer and/or the printout itself. This process is integrated in almost every commercial colour laser printer. This means that almost every printout contains coded information about the source device, such as the serial number.

“what does it take to understand our reality as a chronic state of emergency?” - Mick Taussig

our government is working to normalize terror and fear in our lives right now. but it is not normal. this is not normal.

we need to continue recognizing that, and using that to drive our action.

start with your strengths and your interests.

start with one or two actions you can commit to integrating into your regular routine.

toolkit here: linktr.ee/oneskycreates

The #TVAccessProject (TAP) in the #UK has created and launched an industry-first #accessibility #toolkit in a bid to make the #TVproduction sector more inclusive for professionals with #disabilities.

Local trade body Pact—which represents independent production and distribution companies—is partnering with the org to host this #FreeResource on its website, starting today.

The toolkit features guides and practical advice for producers, including tips on how to be more inclusive in the recruitment process, how to apply for funding to cover access-related costs on a production, and an overview of all the potential barriers (physical, visual, cognitive, etc.) faced by #PeopleWithDisabilities in the industry.

This resource also offers tailored guidelines for productions based on whether the project is currently in development, in production or in post-production.

While implementing more #GUI features with "just" #X11 (using #xcb and several "support libs", but no GUI #toolkit), I'm kind of creating my own toolkit. I guess this is unavoidable given the amount of code and complexity necessary. 🙈

For that, I created a custom object model supporting virtual methods, reference counting, and "owning" other objects for recursive destruction, and I try to achieve a consistent interface for all the widgets I create ... and this is the result using what's there so far:

Accessibility is very important, not just for disabled people, but its also important for able-bodied people as well!

So many accessibility tools also have use for able-bodied people, for example: the computer magnifying glass.

The computer magnifying glass was made for disabled people who are hard of seeing to see easier on a computer, but its also useful for able-bodied people in situations where maybe a webpage is displaying really small, unreadable text, and you need to zoom in to see better, and other similar situations.

Its accessibility tools like this which help everyone. Not just disabled people. That's why accessibility is so important, it's because accessibility helps every single person and not just disabled people. That's why we need accessiblity.

It's important to keep computers accessible so that everyone can use a computer easier. Especially in the day and age where computers are so ubiquitous and universal everywhere and it is a requirement for daily life.

To all software developers out there: keep accessiblity at a very high priority. All of your software should be accessible. It helps every single one of your users and not just a small portion. Please and thank you.

🔎 The recent expert panel "Empowering Young People, Protecting Democracy: Addressing Disinformation at School", supported by #FermiEU, showcased that #educators need to be provided with the tools and materials to teach students the methods in tackling #disinformation.
