I can get it to play in Firefox, Totem, and other players. But my version of VLC (3.0.21 from Flathub) doesn't play any sound.
If it works for you on VLC for Linux, please let me know the version number!

Ich bin heute den nächsten #Schritt zu #unplugtrump gegangen und habe #Linux #Mint installiert und einige Stunden mit der #Installation zugebracht.
#Firefox mit allen #Einstellungen und #Lesezeichen, #Thunderbird mit allen #Postfächern und dem Archiv, #LibreOffice und #VLC laufen.
Ich habe noch ein paar #Probleme damit auf meine verschiedenen #Festplatten und deren Daten direkt aus den Linux-Apps zuzugreifen, aber ich hoffe das kann ich noch verstehen.
Ich bin ziemlich müde, aber auch stolz.
Dein Laptop wird bald nicht mehr mit Sicherheitsupdates versorgt und das Update auf das nächsthöhere Betriebssystem wird aufgrund von zu hohen Hardwareanforderungen blockiert?
Das muss nicht sein!
Ein Umstieg auf z.B. #LinuxMint könnte hier helfen. Die Installation und Einrichtung auch für Anfänger geeignet. Viele bekannte Anwendungen werdet ihr auch für #Linux wiederfinden (#firefox #thunderbird #steam #vlc #keepassxc #libreoffice...). Hier unterstützen euch einige Reparatur Cafés oder Computerclubs und bieten spezielle "LinuxCafés" an.
Der Rechner kann somit noch über Jahre genutzt werden. Probiert es mal aus! Ganz nebenbei punktet das neue System auch in Sachen #Datenschutz.

@EricAlper FWIW, I just shoved around 6GiB worth of #mp3 files created from physical audio CDs (nicely organized and enriched with metadata) onto my new #mobile phone to listen with #vlc.

Music Server Again
I need to dig into the mpd music server again on my Raspberry Pi 4 because VLC isn’t working right and I need a confirmation that SD card isn’t the problem. VLC keeps on running into errors while playing files and it’s happening more and more frequently. VLC doesn’t seem to know how to play the mp3 files that I have. Is a VLC update in the cards? I did uninstall the VLC player from Google Play Store and want to install the App from F-Droid. But I get the following error. Anyone know the issue?
This is new. My @VLC_Android was acting funny on Android, so I uninstalled and reinstalled. Now, when I switch between apps and go back to #VLC that was playing a video, I get "Nothing to resume."
Anyone else run into this? Or know of a fix?
It's amazing how much I miss stats a la MPlayer in my video output overlay

There is a Google Summer of Code 2025 proposal to add AI to VLC. The proposal outlines the development of an AI-powered smart media recommendation engine as a native plugin for VLC. The system will analyze users' viewing habits, media metadata, subtitle content, and playback patterns to suggest relevant content from their local libraries.
