1. Men from Yorkshire who served in Gallipoli:
Matthew Weldrick was born in 1881, Maplewell, Barnsley, Yorkshire. He was the son of Joseph Weldrick and Elizabeth Rennison. He married Sarah Ann Hinchcliffe on 24th December 1905, Barnsley, Yorkshire. They had three daughters and one son.
In 1911 Matthew’s occupation was a Coal Miner (Trammer) aged 29 and he lived with his wife and children on 11 Blucher Street. Barnsley, Yorkshire. #WW1 #gallipoli

HMS Lord Clive was the lead ship of her class of eight monitors built for the Royal Navy during World War I. The ship spent the war in the English Channel bombarding German positions along the Belgian coast. William Hunter was born in 1897, Percy Main, Northumberland. He was the son of James Gibson Hunter and Margaret Dixon.
In 1911 William aged 15 was an inmate, school, Durham, Sunderland. In 1914 William joined The Loyal North Lancashire Regiment 1st Battalion. Rank Private, Service No. 10710. In 1915 he went to France. #WW1 #shotatdawn
