here’s tangential mini-thread i wrote about how Wisconsin was one of the big stories of 2011 during the #ArabSpring and how without Winconsin’s #Walkerville, there would have never been a #Bloombergville nor an #OccupyWallStreet.

although the MSM mostly acknowledged the #Walkerville summer encampments created by the #Teamsters in June of that year, i actually had been news curating the Wisconsin protests from February because Michigan activists knew i'd been curating #ArabSpring news for over a month.

they couldn't use tents so they slept in SLEEPING BAGS in the middle of FEBRUARY of 2011.

one of my tweets in 2012 after i was reminded in the previous tweet that Walkerville had started NOT in june of 2011 but in February. this is a manual quote-tweet, by the way, in response to twitter user suprebranch posting on of the OG photos of that February Walkerville. that photo is the next image.
