DoomsdaysCW<p>So, this is the kind of sneaky stuff I expect from Windows. One of my laptops is on Windows 11. The internal keyboard suddenly stopped working. On a Mac, I would know exactly how to resolve this. After doing some research about the PC laptop and doing a few common sense things (remove the battery, discharge, start up, then look for settings), I came to the conclusion that a WINDOWS UPDATE must be gumming up the works. Sure enough, once I had spent time on the update, the keyboard worked fine (and oddly enough, SOME keys worked -- a few of the F keys, so I knew it wasn't the hardware). Gotta love <a href="https://kolektiva.social/tags/WindowsUpdates" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>WindowsUpdates</span></a>! (That's why I schedule them manually -- so I can do them one at a time). I know, I know -- time for Linux... I'm *almost* there...</p>

Rob Pomeroy<p>Windows Update error 0x80070643!</p><p>So Patch Tuesday is causing a nuisance for many PCs. All because the Windows recovery partition is too small. You can enlarge it (details here: <a href="https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/topic/kb5028997-instructions-to-manually-resize-your-partition-to-install-the-winre-update-400faa27-9343-461c-ada9-24c8229763bf" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">support.microsoft.com/en-us/to</span><span class="invisible">pic/kb5028997-instructions-to-manually-resize-your-partition-to-install-the-winre-update-400faa27-9343-461c-ada9-24c8229763bf</span></a>) or just wait for MS to come up with a better fix.</p><p><a href="https://infosec.exchange/tags/WindowsUpdate" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>WindowsUpdate</span></a> <a href="https://infosec.exchange/tags/WindowsUpdates" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>WindowsUpdates</span></a> <a href="https://infosec.exchange/tags/PatchTuesday" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>PatchTuesday</span></a></p>
