Guido Günther<p>·..and here's how the volume controls currently look in mobile settings. We get the list of controls from <a href="https://ruhr.social/tags/wireplumber" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>wireplumber</span></a> too and<br><a href="https://ruhr.social/tags/phosh" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>phosh</span></a>'s volume slider gets the highest priority volume so the top panel's volume slider does "the right thing" by default. (I've linked the related MRs from <a href="https://gitlab.gnome.org/guidog/meta-phosh/-/issues/20" rel="nofollow noopener" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">gitlab.gnome.org/guidog/meta-p</span><span class="invisible">hosh/-/issues/20</span></a>)</p>
Guido Günther<p>With the alarm clock waking the phone from suspend we still need to make sure the alarm sound is audible. We thus need it to have a volume level separate from e.g. media, notifications, calls, etc. This is possible with <a href="https://ruhr.social/tags/wireplumber" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>wireplumber</span></a>'s "role based policy". There's a lot of lose ends to fix before this all can land but here's a quick demo in <a href="https://ruhr.social/tags/phosh" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>phosh</span></a> (the alarm sound your is played via <a href="https://ruhr.social/tags/feedbackd" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>feedbackd</span></a> which adds the necessary role):</p><p><a href="https://ruhr.social/tags/LinuxMobile" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>LinuxMobile</span></a></p>

Mika<p><a href="https://sakurajima.social/tags/Linux" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#Linux</a> audio is bizarrely confusing to a regular user lol - if I were to configure a <a href="https://sakurajima.social/tags/PulseAudio" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#PulseAudio</a> setting (i.e. <code>clock.force-quantum</code>) but obviously most systems now have moved to using <a href="https://sakurajima.social/tags/PipeWire" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#PipeWire</a>, but from what I can tell or think to understand is that systems use PipeWire via something called <a href="https://sakurajima.social/tags/WirePlumber" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#WirePlumber</a>, should this (user-specific) configuration be done in a WirePlumber config, or PipeWire? I normally could learn these things easily through the <a href="https://sakurajima.social/tags/ArchWiki" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#ArchWiki</a>, but so far, this topic is completely lost on me lol.</p>
ploum<p>Trying to figure out why my :debian: sid silenced the mic. It looks like a pipewire/wireplumber issue. If I switch my profile from "stereo input + stereo output" to "proaudio" in pavucontrol then set the default input to "pro 6" (see screenshots), internal mic is working. (but plugged-in not).</p><p>Any idea to identify the issue in order to report the bug against the faulty package (that’s why I use Sid in the first place)?</p><p>My brain is stuck in Alsa/ESD era ;-)</p><p><a href="https://mamot.fr/tags/debian" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>debian</span></a> <a href="https://mamot.fr/tags/pipewire" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>pipewire</span></a> <a href="https://mamot.fr/tags/wireplumber" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>wireplumber</span></a></p>

Between two Linux devices, I can use all the fancy Bluetooth codecs - including duplex Opus, which means I can forward audio into both directions from one machine. Even better, I'm able to connect one computer to a Bluetooth headset and then forward the Audio via Bluetooth from another computer (basically nesting Bluetooth), but avoiding connecting multiple devices to the same headset.</p>
