Late last year, after having used it as my daily default browser for a few [maybe several?] months, the incessant bugs, unrelenting workflow-buggering major changes, & frequent loss of all tabs, caused me to abandon :zenbrowser: [only in early Beta back then, so not totes surprising] & return to ticktacking back & forth twixt :firefox_nightly: and :floorp:. Into 2025 those latter two continued competing for my daily affections.

T'other day i learned that the long awaited native #TabFolders in :zenbrowser: have now landed in #ZenTwilight [the nightly / Alpha version], & thus might be expected to make it finally into the Beta version within a week or two. This morn, possibly against my better judgement but tbc, that discovery inspired me to jump back into my :zenbrowser: Beta & relearn it + learn all the stuff new since i last dabbled, in anticipation of this incipient major design UI & UX change.

All the #KleverKids are saying that Zen's TabFolders are a game-changer, coz they will provide users with the first ever native-in-a-Fox browser tab hierarchical nesting. None of :firefox_nightly:, :firefox: , nor :floorp: has it [all only flat, not tree, structures; ditto flat-only in Chromium, Vivaldi, Edge et al]. Hitherto the only way to gain this important function has been via AddOns like #TreeStyleTab or #Sidebery. These are both fabulous, but do not have access to all the native foxy code bits n pieces [i've damn well forgotten the proper term atm, sigh], so by using either of these AOs we lose some of the important fox functionality, eg, tab context menu items. If the Zen Dev/s do their work really well, we will finally have our tabby cake & eat it.

How do you keep browser settings synchronized across multiple computers? I use #ZenBrowser (based on #Firefox) but if you have something good for different browsers, please do tell.

I use the built-in Sync feature to synchronize bookmarks, history and so on, but I want something more. All of my about:config, themes, toolbar layouts, and everything.

I was thinking about some #Ansible module, or about starting to use #Nix just for my browser, or maybe #syncthing .

Please share your experiences.

jokes on me I eventually went back to @zenbrowser again 😆 this time I'm intentional with what Profiles and Spaces I have set up, as well as enabling the Bookmarks Toolbar for now.

Once Zen gains folders on the sidebar I'll turn this off haha

I'll still miss Little Arc 🥲 hope that gets a mod soon #ZenBrowser

I have a dilemma with browsers:
I really like Zen Browser but it has a ram issue on my computer which causes frequent crashes. I switched to LibreWolf and it's having the same issues. I'm on fedora.

Default Firefox does not have these issues, I'm thinking that's because it's a native rpm package and not a flatpak. There doesn't seem to be an rpm version of Zen or LibreWolf. I could switch to default firefox but it's got mozilla telemetry and extra features I don't want to see. I want a private browser, as of recently this probably isn't a great choice.
Is there any other version of firefox that isn't changed much? Or should I just use normal firefox?

I find that I really prefer #Gecko browsers like #Firefox and #ZenBrowser over #Chromium options, despite the Chromium browsers being a bit more secure.

I keep #Vivaldi as my Chromium backup, and I wish I liked it more than I do. I've just found niggling little issues that keep me from adopting it full-time. The few times I've tried making suggestions on the forums to fix those issues, I've had less than positive experiences. Yes, I'm aware that there are other ways to do things and no, that's not what I asked for, was it?

For now, I just bite the bullet and stick with Firefox and #Zen since they do what I want, how I want, and sync so I can bounce back and forth all I want.

I intended to replace Vivaldi but ended up replacing Brave with Zen Browser.

However, I couldn't let go of Vivaldi due to my thousand-plus bookmarks and hundreds of speed dials, as I couldn't find a way to transfer them to Zen, which also has a different workflow.

That said, Zen is a fantastic browser!
