JEmphatically<p>"This is a warning. Alberta is not immune to the sickness devouring our neighbours to the south. It is the sickness of authoritarian capitalism, cloaked in patriotism, funded by billionaires and sold as common sense. It tells us that the rich are 'job creators' instead of modern-day feudal lords. It convinces us that we should slash the social safety net so that those who need it most are punished for being born poor, disabled or unlucky."</p><p><a href="https://calgaryherald.com/opinion/columnists/canada-beware-alberta-is-the-canary-in-the-coal-mine?tbref=hp" rel="nofollow noopener" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">calgaryherald.com/opinion/colu</span><span class="invisible">mnists/canada-beware-alberta-is-the-canary-in-the-coal-mine?tbref=hp</span></a></p><p><a href="https://mstdn.ca/tags/ableg" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>ableg</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.ca/tags/cdnpoli" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>cdnpoli</span></a></p>

It was just brought to my attention that the pre-order for vaccines for Influenza and Covid in Alberta is set up with Salesforce, a cloud-based software "focused on sales, customer service, marketing automation, e-commerce, analytics, artificial intelligence" etc.

This is now money being spent on a tracking and payment system for public health care that should be free. Not integrated with the MyHealth portal, from what I can see so far.

We are being set up to pay extra for healthcare services that should be free. Healthcare that always was free in the past. Who voted for this?

Albertans, if you feel immunizations are important, please preorder your COVID and Influenza vaccine at

bookvaccine.alberta.ca/vaccine

Since there are NO questions about medical conditions, I have a strong suspicion this is a political effort rather than a healthcare effort.

You are not even required to link to your MyHealth profile! It doesn't make sense.

This seems more like one of the UCP government's polls than an actual preorder. You don't have to give any payment information on the preorder form. And the only questions are age-related.

I wonder if it could be used to determine how many people are supportive of vaccinations in political statements from the Premier.

A low number of preorders would support their approach.

I didn't even receive an email confirmation response or tracking number to prove my order.

"When Edmonton speaks, we listen"

Oh really, Danielle?

How's the houseless problem going? When are you funding our 1.5 billion infrastructure deficit? When did Edmonton say we wanted political parties in our municipal elections? When did we say we wanted a provincial police force? When did we want to our own pension plan?

You might remember that this spring, Alberta Premier Danielle Smith headlined a fundraiser with Ben Shapiro in support of this PragerU organization.
