Recently, I asked several random Americans what they thought about my idea of hitchhiking across the USA. To remind you, last year I hitchhiked through part of Europe and was absolutely thrilled with the experience.

Here's what's interesting: most Americans strongly advise against repeating such an experiment in their country. They say it's dangerous. But I still can't understand if this is a real objective danger or just a stereotype that has stuck in their minds.

In general, I'm slightly confused. I don't want to abandon the idea, but I also don't want to take thoughtless risks. Maybe someone has experience or an outside perspective?

Learn to be in constant movement and increase endurance. Success always begins at the end of the comfort zone.

Wife selects fancy restaurant. Menu terrifies me. I order what appears safest. Wife says, “can’t believe you ordered that!” And I’m like, “It seemed like the safest thing on the menu.”

No where on the menu does the beef tartare say it is raw. Apparently that’s what tartare is.
