Kevin Klehr 🏳️‍🌈I've been working on my first self published novel as part of a book series penned by ten different authors.I usually work on my books, on and off, over several years. But this project has a tight deadline. So, very quickly, I changed aspects of one character as she was originally coming across too bitter. I switched to multi-person first person POV (from 3rd person limited) when about two-thirds was written (I didn't feel the connection between character and reader was strong enough). And I've already done about five edits on this thing.Yesterday I completed edit number six, doing my usual thing of changing the font (this time to one no one would print a book in), and both deleted and added text. I know this story so well, I also caught some behavioural differences in a couple of the characters. They're now fixed.I'm reading the last two chapters this morning (the ones that have seen the least edits) before I send this off to my designated beta readers.My obsession with this has kicked it into shape sooner than I imagined. There are a couple of last minute characters who need further development in my next (and final) rewrites before it's off to the editor.So, just as Halloween approaches, watch out for this year's instalment of the Haunted Hearts Series of MM Horror/Romance novels.
