Android Ecosystem President Sameer Samat stated bluntly that Android and Chrome OS are merging.
Fellow Android developers using Google Play, how is your edge-to-edge refactoring summer going?
I'm mostly done but FOSDEM Companion will have to wait until next year.

Performance boost alert!
We tracked down a sneaky issue where Android’s WebView loadUrl would choke on large strings (looking at you, base64 tiles ).
This fix is now live in Collabora Office 25.04.2 for Android — grab it from the app store and enjoy documents that load like a dream.

Inter is such a great font for mobile development: it’s quite close to Roboto, so they look good together and Roboto basically becomes a condensed Inter.
And it’s even closer to SF Pro, although a bit more spacious, which makes it great for long body texts on iOS, where SF Pro can feel a bit too interface'ish.
And it supports Cyrillic!

Here's what's new on Android:
Add custom icons, mute chats, and see which friends have RCS enabled.
Talk with Gemini about anything you see through your camera or screen.
@jstatepost @DrOinFL The dev goes into some detail on why they don't feel they can safely publish a corresponding app on Android: https://www.iceblock.app/android . I'm not an #AndroidDev, but I hazily thought I'd read of several workarounds for this issue.
Leaked hands-on shots of the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 7.
Experts need to figure out a way to have the iceblock app on Android. Android users should at least be able to report neogestapo sightings
ein neues Update ist draußen. Enthalten ist das Spiel mit dem Affen und den Bananen

I need some technical help.
I’m trying to get an existing project compiling.
Running node.js on windows.
Using flutter and gradle to build.
I have the correct version of android studio installed.
When I try to compile gradle complains that it can’t find Java in a directory of an old uninstalled version of eclipse.
I can’t for the life of me figure out where that path is being set.

Using #Swift for #AndroidDev is already more popular than you think. Skip.tools doesn't have runtime checks, so even we don't know the apps out there. Here's a popular one we just found out about:

A friend is building an app to help immigrants detained by ICE.
It's a web app currently, but is intended to be a mobile app.
Anyone have experience building and deploying mobile apps and interested in volunteering time to help a new app with a good cause?
Feel free to share with others or boost for reach.
