Some more tweaking, and my BeOS impersonation under XFce is near complete. It just feels good.
And the system now cold-boots at 475 MB of RAM. Awesome!

I can't remember the last time I felt such fulfillment playing #electricguitar with a digital amp is pure bliss
Having a digital amp brings me a big step closer to my life-goal of covering all of Iron Maiden's songs (some day... maybe in 35 years )
I replaced the jackd package with pipewire-jack
this allows using pipewire within the jack setup. For example mixing guitar/amp output with browser output (backing tracks for example)
The first few GNOME 49 alpha releases are now available¹ via gnome-unstable repo²

I finally got my #ArchLinux disk encryption upgraded to #LUKS2. It certainly was a challenge because #grub does not seem to play nicely with it but I did get it to work. Grub has a bug in it where passphrases entered from the keyboard need to use PBDKF2 and key files need to use Argon2id. Once I figured this out, everything worked smoothly.
My graphics card keeps calling me poor
No vulkan for my GTX 550 TI
@LeatherCubAndrew My two favorite Linux distros are actually #AlmaLinux and #ArchLinux. I use Arch for everything desktop-related and Alma for all of my server needs. I also have love for the BSDs. #OpenBSD handles my security related stuff. #FreeBSD I’ve often used as a web server as it really runs Apache very well.

@winterschon #ZFS on root with native #encryption is working well for me on #ArchLinux using linux-lts kernel and zfs-dkms
Seems like we might need to move the @archlinux account off from fosstodon. What is a good option?
I appeared over in an interview over on Linkarzu's channel, go give it a bit of a sus #Linux #Podcast #ArchLinux https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bAmJQuX4-ak
Keepassxc is broken on #archlinux because the present package is built against an older qt lib version.
Normally, I would just report on the Archlinux gitlab instance that it needs a rebuild
However, I can't do that without my github credentials
Which I can't access because keepassxc won't load...

Arch Linux is a great Linux distro, but the support community is trash. You'll be told to read the Wiki, even when there is no Wiki on the topic you're talking about. I've been pointed to a Wiki link, that basically once was a 404. I don't even think they read the post.

We are working on integrating our Astian Accounts services for #midoribrowser bookmark history, strong passwords, but also #midorivpn, Cloud storage and much more. Very soon.
