The graceful dance of white birches in the forest

I took this shot one day at the end of December just before sunset while I was coming back from walking in nature. It was close to the bank of one small river when I saw this scene. Right in front of the little forest by the riverbank, stood these beautiful white birches swaying in the wind as if they were performing some forest dance. And the whole performance was happening with the beautiful music of the wind through the almost bare branches. They looked very gentle and graceful compared to everything around them. Up above, was a wonderful sunset sky with nice warm tones. I really wanted to stay as long as possible and enjoy this scene, but it was slowly getting dark, so I took a shot and went home.

A sad grove in winter without snow

I took this photo one late afternoon while I was coming home from a long walk in nature. It was maybe about sunset when I came across this small grove at the end of one large field. It was a cold January day but unfortunately without snow. The scene I saw looked very sad. I remembered this grove in spring or in autumn with beautiful colorful leaves and green grass but there was nothing of that beauty that day except maybe the interesting sky above. Only a small part of greenish grass remained in front of it to remind of the past days. The grove stood in front of me with bare branches as if begging for at least snow to fall and hide its nakedness and shame. It was a very sad and nostalgic rural scene so I took a shot and went on my way.

Red hut in the snow

It's a cold late January afternoon in Serbia. The sun is slowly setting and its last rays are shining across the field, illuminating a small red hut under the snow cover. Red, yellow, and orange warm tones are spreading all around in this winter whiteness. Colors in the sky are also in that beautiful tones. Winter has already arrived and brought coldness and whiteness with it. Everything is covered with snow, but not the bare branches of this small forest and bushes, where some animals are looking for a place to hide from the coldness and hunters. There are also hawks on some branches waiting for some prey to appear. Everything is so calm and peaceful. There are no clouds in the sky and it's very cold today but I am still walking through the field in nature because scenes like this are surely worth photographing.

Karadjordjevic dynasty vineyards on the Oplenac hill in Serbia

This photo was taken during my visit to Topola, a small town in the heart of Serbia in the region Sumadija. It was in autumn one November day in the late afternoon. This is a view of the vineyards of the Karadjordjevic family and the unforgettable Serbian landscape with a valley and mountains in the distance.

The town of Topola itself takes an important place in Serbian history in connection with the famous Serbian dynasty Karadjordjevic. On the hill Oplenac, near the town, there are dynasty estates with old buildings that are now cultural landmarks, such as the house of King Peter the First Karadjordjevic, which has been turned into a museum, and the famous Church of St. George where most members of the dynasty are buried. At the foot of the hill, in the town itself, is the house of Karadjordje Petrovic the ancestor of the dynasty who was the leader of Serbia and the leader of the first Serbian rebellion against Turkish oppression. That house, built in the old Serbian style, has also been turned into a museum. All this attracts a number of tourists who come here at any time of the year.
