Bedraggled Ani on a Bedraggled Branch.
The smooth billed Ani within the Galapagos is a bit of "The little old lady who swallowed a fly." They were introduced in the 1960's to eat the ticks that were accidentally introduced earlier via cattle importation. Wing drying time! It seemed to me like poor design that a waterbird would have to dedicate so much time to drying out wings, where it seems so vulnerable to predation.
