Eine für mich gar nicht so leicht zu beantwortende Frage.

Ich hab mich dann aber für den Schwertschnabel-Kolibri entschieden. Er stand sehr lange auf meiner Wunschliste und hat sich so gegen echt harte Konkurrenz durchsetzten können.
Da waren u.a. der Kanaren-Schmutzgeier oder der Andenfelsenhahn. Und natürlich der Violetbart-Helmkolibri. Alle hätten sie den Platz als Top-Lifer 2024 verdient.

Just had a noisy visit from some Pied Currawongs (Strepera graculina). This one's carrying a dead flower. I'm guessing courtship behaviour. Shot from my apartment/unit balcony in St Lucia.

Thanks to you #birdnerds on here, I had a lovely conversation with a lady, probably in her 70s, on the trail today.

After saying good morning as we passed, heading opposite ways, I noticed her binoculars and asked how the birds were- she got very excited and launched into all the wrens and warblers she saw and we talked for about 5 minutes.

It was great. I love people.

The Rainbow Lorikeets (Trichoglossus moluccanus) are loving the neighbour's African Tulip at the moment. Interesting grey colouration under the neck of one of them.

No, I haven't completely stopped shooting wildlife. Although, the Rainbow Lorikeet (Trichoglossus moluccanus) did have to come to me (or the neighbour's African Tulip at least).
