In a little-noticed filing last month, fed regulators requested comments on a proposed rule that would mandate update a critical communications malfunction in their 787 Dreamliner plane that could lead to disastrous accidents.

VHF radio channels are transferring b/w the active & standby settings w/o flight crew input. “The uncommanded frequency changes could result in missed communications between the flightcrew & Air Traffic Control."

This article, which explains how the previous tariffs made #Boeing lose significant market share to #Airbus, gives a good example of how damaging tariffs can work out.

It all might look good on a paper napkin, but Boeing supporting the cancellation of #Trump 's previous #tariffs on Airbus shows that real-life effects are often very different from what is on your napkin.

A esto hay que sumar que la noche anterior la pasaron los astronautas a 10 °C y sin ropa de abrigo. Tuvieron que ponerse los trajes.

I'm constantly amazed by test pilots and how much they put on the line. They were a hair away from not getting home, and NASA being in front of Congress for years.

"Starliner’s flight to the space station was far wilder than most of us thought" by @arstechnica / @sciguyspace - Eric Berger interviewed Butch Wilmore about what it was like piloting #Boeing #Starliner, including during thruster malfunctions at station docking when it wouldn't go where he wanted it. He didn't know if a safe abort and de-orbit was possible either. They safely docked. The problem was due overheating tightly-packed thruster pods. arstechnica.com/space/2025/04/ #NASA #space #StarlinerCFT
