We setup my camera on one of the Buffalo Astronomical Association's telescopes during the Buffalo Audubon's Trick-or-Treat Hike event on 10//19/2024 to capture comet C/2023 A3 (Tsuchinshan-Atlas). Here’s my process of the data. 112 subs at 15 sec each for 28 minutes of total exposure. Tele Vue NP101is w/0.8x Reducer, ZWO ASI2600MC Pro, & Astro Physics AP1200. #Cometc2023a3 #comettsuchinshanatlas #c2023a3

This was probably the last opportunity for me to catch the comet. Shot at 430mm with a Tracking telescope. 7 shots with 20 seconds exposure time each. Stacked in Siril.

Kometa C/2023 A3 jest jeszcze do ustrzelenia. ;-) Nawet w mieście. Oczywiście już nie gołym okiem.
Dziś spróbowałem obiektywem 300 mm i…
1) zapomniałem, żeby skrócić czas naświetlania, więc jest rozjechane
2) dodatkowo coś ciężko mi było ustawić ostrość,
ale coś tam widać.
W pewnym momencie z myśliwego (polującego na kometę) stałem się ofiarą (krwiożerczych komarów).

It was such a nice night that I spent as much time trying to take photos of the comet #c2023a3 #TsuchinshanATLAS as I did pedaling. I couldn’t see it, but my phone could with a 3 second exposure. It’s the smudge in the middle of the frame.
#AltText for all three images: a black background with lots of white dots, mostly very tiny. All three have a very faint white smudge that is the comet’s tail.
