A few minutes ago in a second hand shop I noticed a calculator under a bunch of others which had an ENTER key. Yay, it's an HP. No batteries. But for €2.50 it looks like a bargain so I'll take the risk. Brought it home, put new batteries in, and... it's not RPN !

HP, why have you forsaken me?

Search Engine Roundtable: Google’s Mortgage Calculator Hasn’t Worked In A Week. “About a week ago, if you searched for mortgage related math questions in Google Search, Google stopped giving you the answer. Google first introduced its mortgage calculator features a decade ago but suddenly the features disappeared last weekend. I figured I’d give them several days before reporting on it but […]

"A calculator app? Anyone could make that.

Not true.

A calculator should show you the result of the mathematical expression you entered. That's much, much harder than it sounds.

What I'm about to tell you is the greatest calculator app development story ever told."

Fighting Words:

I've used a Casio fx-260 all my life. It's always done everything I need it to. My 2nd favorite gadget ever.

But saw this for 18 bucks today. I thought the all-white look was pretty easy on the eyes, easier to read than the dark look of the fx-260. Went ahead and got it.

Never had a calculator like this before. Going from the 260 to this feels like going from a Model T to a Space Shuttle.

I'll probably never use most of the stuff on here, but if I ever need it, it's there!
