Climeworks, a direct air carbon capture company that's very hyped, cannot even offset the CO2 emissions of its own operations - despite operating the machines on Iceland where green energy is cheap and abundant.
They made a machine that just adds carbon to the atmosphere without anything to show for it.

Taking a concentrated form of carbon, dissipating it, and then trying to reconcentrate it and store it is never going to be an efficient use of anything.

To the surprise of no one a new investigation shows that carbon air capture company Climeworks is unable to offset even its own operations, let alone their clients.
