I am sad to hear about the passing of the Pushkin of #Chess, Boris Spassky. He inspired me when I was an aspiring player and later as a sportsperson.

How memorable is his letter to George W. Bush after Bobby Fischer was arrested in Tokyo:

“Bobby and I committed the same crime. Put sanctions against me also. Arrest me. And put me in the same cell with Bobby Fischer. And give us a chess set.”

Two legends, and hopefully they are having fun over a chessboard once again.
