@knittingknots2 You are exactly right. It would be incomprehensible except it’s not, really. The #christofascists are following the same plan as the Nazis. It is “fact” that they want to control, as well as the passing on of knowledge. Independence of academia and research is exactly what they want to destroy.

@christineburns I initially thought that Wes Streeting and #Starmer were appeasing the #astroTERFs. Much as that revolts me, I could see the strategic temptation. But we are now way beyond that.

As soon as he took office, WS went ultraTERF on puberty blockers. Mahmoud has gone ultraTERF on the UKSC ruling.

This looks to me way beyond appeasement. If its not ideological conversion, it's a zealous attempt to overtake the #christofascists and #astroTERFs ... which of course is impossible

@Leah True—and where things have been going for many years. Look at the NY yeshivot. These people don’t find it necessary at all to provide a secular education: science, English, civics. Their kids will grow up to vote — if at all — however their rebbe tells them.

#Haredi #Jews, #Christofascists, and extremists of all varieties regard #democracy with suspicion. Why read Heart of Darkness or Native Son when you have the Bible? Why learn how bills become laws, when you have the One True Law? Why be part of our pluralistic, diverse, cross-pollinating society, when those outside your communities are enemies of God?

The Trump regime plugs advertise themselves as Christian, so just to clarify, bias against the belief that it’s okay to kidnap and disappear people you don’t like? Bias against stripping needed healthcare from seniors, cancelling school lunch programs, or terrorizing women experiencing a miscarriage?
